This edition of the newsletter will be delivered to all homes in Woodlawn so we are again running this article about our Architectural Control Committee (ACC) so that every homeowner will be informed. An Architectural Control Committee (ACC) has been appointed by our Association president. Residents are reminded that if they plan any additions, alterations, or other changes to their residence or lot, they must first be approved through the ACC of the WHA before they are begun. The recently approved Covenants and Restrictions call for the requests to be promptly acted upon. A request for alterations should be in the form of a note and a sketch briefly describing said alterations and should be sent to one of the Committee members. The present committee is compose of Eddie Herzog,, John Overmeyer, and Tim Rhodes. The Committee is required to respond to a request within (30) days. Thank you for your cooperation in maintaining our property values. The names and phone numbers are located in the WHA Contacts column

Since the last newsletter, two more residents have become members of the Association, one renewal and one new member. This brings the count up to 303 members.
In the last newsletter, we asked for a volunteer street captain for Woodlawn Park but no one came forth. We find ourselves now needing two new street captains. One for Woodlawn Park and another for the southeast end of Snowden North. Mary Guilherme is the current street captain for this route, but she will be moving soon. There are only 9 members on the Snowden North route and 11 members on Woodlawn Park. Anyone wishing to volunteer, please call Carolyn @ 755-6384.

The Security Committee received reports of two incidents that have happened in the neighborhood recently. The same person has allegedly been involved in both incidents. This person is a black male in his fifties and drives a white Jaguar. It has been alleged that this person will park in front of an individual's home and then follow them out of the neighborhood. The Sheriff's Department is investigating these incidents and as soon as we receive a final report, we will inform the neighborhood.
Summer is here and many of us will be taking vacations. If you are a member of the Security Program, be sure to call one of the security coordinators before you go out of town to give them some information. Important information needed is the date of departure and return, any cars left at home, which lights will be left on around your home, a contact number where you can be reached, and the name of someone you trust who has a key to your home in your absence. This gives our patrolman the needed information to keep an eye on your home while you are gone.
We have a new patrolman providing security for our neighborhood. His name is Capt. Ronnie Clements, Capt. Clements started patrolling in May. He drives a white truck with the Sheriff's Department logo. Let us all welcome him to our neighborhood. If anyone would like any information about our Security Patrol program, please contact someone on the committee. Any resident can join at any time during the year. We like to stress that the more people who join the Security program, the more hours we can pay our patrolman to be in our neighborhood.
Remember to keep your eyes and ears open and be aware of your surroundings. It is also a good idea to keep your vehicle doors loced while you are driving and also when it is parked at your home.
  • Yard of the Month (YOM)

Yard of the Month honors for April went to Danny & Lisa Oubre at 5648 Greenshire. Petunias and impatiens in shades of pink and white grace their yard.
The month of May YOM was awarded to Edward & Claudia Ross at 5526 Tennyson. Their yard looks so nice with freshly trimmed shrubs, lots of petunias and peach day-lillies. Congratulations to these winners and thnaks for making our subdivision look so great. Your hard work is appreciated.

Take a look at these homes in the Neighborhood Pictures!
